The latest version of FreeCiv has been released. There's also a version you can straight up play in your browser, which is a great way to try it out and see if it's for you. It includes single player, multiplayer, and even play by email options. It's not much to look at, but it's quite good, and has expanded quite a bit from the original game. Not to your liking?
